Where can I find prices for cabins?

Prices of cabins and apartments are in online shop.

Each cabin / apartment description page has an online booking calendar.

Select arrival date and number of days. The system will display the price for the period (for free cabins).

Can I change the cabin?

If the customer changes the vacation homes or the dates of the holiday, this will be considered as a cancellation of the previous reservation and a new reservation. More information: Pyhä-Luosto Travel booking terms

If I get sick, can I cancel the booking?

Yes you can cancel the booking. Time of cancellation will tell if the payment will be refunded.

Where can I get the keys to the cottage and how will I find the cottage?

The customer must notify Pyhä-Luosto Travel about the estimated time of arrival, 2 days before the beginning of the rental period either via e-mail or telephone.

When picking up the keys, every customer receives a map. With the map the cottage will be found easily.

How many keys will I receive for the cottage?

The customers will be provided with one key per cottage regardless of the amount of the guests.

At what time can I pick up the keys and when should I return them?

The accommodation is at the disposal of the customer from 4 pm (16:00) on the day of arrival until 12 pm (12:00) on the day of departure. Check more information:  Pyhä-Luosto Travel booking terms or Good to know

We will arrive at morning, can we check-in already then?

The check-in time is at 4 pm (16:00) at the day of arrival.

My flight departs in the evening, is it possible to hold the apartment until that?

The check-out time is at noon (12:00) on the departure day. The customer should leave and return keys before 12:00 to Pyhä-Luosto Travel Ltd office.

Airport Bus is operating from/to Rovaniemi Airport – Luosto 4 times a day during winter season.  SkiBus information

If I have problems in the cabin, where can I find help?

In every cabin there is a cabin folder. In the folder there is general information about the cabins. All complaints about the equipment and condition of the accommodation must be addressed as soon as they arise and during the vacation to Pyhä-Luosto Travel Ltd. What if I get sick during my holiday, where is the hospital?

The closest hospital is located in Rovaniemi, 130 km south from Luosto.

There is a health-care center in Sodankylä, 40 km north from Luosto, tel. +358 (0) 20 692 881. There is also private health care center Aslak in Sodankylä, tel. +358 (0)16 636 112.

The emergency number in Finland is 112. In case of emergency, you should always call the emergency number!

Where is Pharmacy?

Nearest Pharmacy is in Sodankylä, about 40 km to north from Luosto.

Sodankylä Pharmacy’s medicine cabin is in Luosto Shop (address: Hartsutie 1). From there you can by basic medicines (without prescription).

What is the currency in Finland, can I pay with debit/credit card?

The currency in Finland is euro. You can use most of the common credit cards in Finland.

There is no bank/ATM in Luosto so you can’t change money in Luosto! There is ATM at the Rovaniemi Airport.

Where/how can I see the Northern Lights / Auroras?

The best season to see the Northern Lights is from November to February.

To be able to see the Northen Lights it needs to be dark and the sky needs to be clear. It’s also important that the surroundings are dark, so you need to move away from the lights of the village.

Aurora Alert Realtime, will be offered free of charge to all visitors in Luosto, in a first for Lapland’s resorts. Visitors will be able to access it via a mobile data connection or using free Wi-Fi networks offered by local businesses. A paid Aurora Alert Realtime SMS service will also be available.

How are the roads in Lapland?

The main roads in Finland are generally in good condition. The general speed limit outside the villages is 80 km/h.

In winter time (October-May) the roads can be snowy and icy. Winter tires are compulsory from the beginning of December to the end of February.
